Laura Baehr holds her B.A. in dance and B.S. in neuroscience from Muhlenberg College. She has recently moved back to her native Philadelphia area to pursue her professional career. Some of Laura’s recent collaborations include work with Keila Cordova, Craig Scull, IdiosynCrazy Productions, Sydney Skybetter, The Bang Group, Tiffany Mills, and Charles O. Anderson. Laura enjoys teaching as a Dance for Parkinson’s Disease Instructor through the Mark Morris Dance Group under the direction of David Leventhal. When she’s not dancing, Laura works in a research lab at the University of Pennsylvania studying traumatic brain injury.
Laura is inspired by the work of BOA because Sutie and the company crave to engage both as artists and scientists to better understand the neural underpinnings of movement disorders such as Tourette’s syndrome. She will work as a performer and researcher with BOA to discover more deeply the re-awakening that art brings to the brain and body of those with movement disorders.
