Mark Travis Rivera is a dancer, choreographer, and writer based out of Northern New Jersey. Mark is the artistic director of marked dance project, a dance company for disabled and nondisabled dancers in residency at William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey. Mark made his choreographic premiere at Rutgers University back in 2009 for Dance NJ “Show Up And Dance” and his work has been performed in various venues in the tri-state area, including The Painted Bride in Philadelphia, PA, Silk City Arts Festival in Paterson, NJ, and Shetler Studios in New York City. He recently was awarded an apprenticeship with AXIS Dance Company, an integrated dance company based in Oakland, California and has had the pleasure of working with choreographers such as Heidi Latsky of The Gimp Project in New York City, Marinda Davis of marInspired: the storytellers, and Caitlin Trainor of Trainor Dance, just to name a few. Currently Mark is a junior at William Paterson where he double majors in journalism and women’s & gender studies with a minor in public relations.
