This animated short touches on the struggle to shape one’s identity beyond the narrow, but often dominant, parameters of a condition like Tourettes. Tourettes can eclipse the more significant qualities of a person, stirring misperception and conflict with one’s environment. Themes like restraint versus whim, linear versus non-linear, one versus many are all part of the mix.
This collaborative effort stems from original storyboards and designs by Matthew Clifford, brought to life by dancers Sutie Madison and Laura Behr, and captured on video by Alan Powell. The final animation was executed with dedication and skill by Christina Piscitelli.
